Job Description:

Summary:  Responsible for working alongside Operations Managers and accepting delegated responsibilities and assigned duties with the ultimate goal of becoming an entry level manager within Operations.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned:
 
  • Work in all operational departments to gain perspective, to include sales and marketing, customer service, accounting, delivery, shipping, receiving, purchasing, human resources and payroll.
  • Complete all assigned leadership training modules as assigned through available company training resources.
  • Adhere to training outline of formal written training program.
  • Attend all training program evaluation meetings.
  • Identify areas of opportunity within the operational environment and present suggestions to management for improvement.
  • Work with and through management to develop and implement action plans to protect company assets and profitability.
  • Learn all operational company reports to analyze operations productivity and company profitability.
  • Attend all leadership seminars as assigned by operations management.
  • Work with operations managers to identify and solve problems.
  • Learn to identify trends and recommend proactive activities to management to reverse or continue.
  • Actively listen and participate in operational departmental meetings.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior at all times.

Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from 4-year college or university; or 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education & experience.  Business and Finance specialties are preferred
        
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have computer literacy. Intermediate to advanced use of Word, Excel, general Windows use required. Knowledge of basic Accounting & Database software (I.E. Oracle & Access).
 
,Language Skills:
Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, & procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports & correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
 
Mathematical Skills and Reasoning Ability:
Ability to calculate figures & amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, & volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
