Description

Rigging Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Olin Chlorine Products (OCP), a division of Olin Corporation, has an opportunity for a Rigging Subject Matter Expert. This role serves as a maintenance focal point in the planning, estimating, and execution of Rigging jobs and practices within Blue Cube / Olin at Freeport site.   

Responsibilities:

    Provides technical expertise on rigging jobs for daily maintenance and projects.
    Ensures that the Rigging resources are utilizing the most effective use of manpower and equipment.
    Intervenes on unsafe rigging practices.
    Direct responsibility for coordinating the rigging activities based on the needs of the Plant Partners.
    Through negotiation, prioritization and communication, ensures rigs are put on the right job with the right equipment and people at the right time.
    Leverages Rigging practices safely across Freeport for Blue Cube.
    Coordinates Turnaround Rigging Activities with Turnaround Planners and Coordinators.
    Inspects equipment and documents successful inspection.
    Interfaces with Leadership to achieve specific business initiatives and to resolve internal and external issues.
    Responsible for planning and signing off on Critical Lifts with Field Planners, Work Coordinators, project Job Reps and Facility Reps as dictated by the job.
    Participates in and/or facilitates all Rigging investigations.  Actively pursues resolution to issues using RCI and ABC/BOC tools.
    Conducts quality audits to verify compliance with NCCCO requirements and addresses gaps found.
    Ensures that mobile cranes and lifting equipment meet safety and operational requirements.
    Assists in the inspection of received rental equipment.
    Creates, communicates and archives job specific lift procedures as needed.
    Routinely uses and follows as applicable work processes and applicable metrics.
    Freeport’s Primary contact for the rigging contract companies we do business to address and resolve their safety and/or quality issues.
    Attend the Houston Business Roundtable when agenda topics concern rigging practices and leverage the learnings across the TXO sites.
    Serve as the SME and assist in designing engineering solutions to eliminate unsafe rigging scenarios.
    When requested, respond to all emergencies when rigging technical expertise is needed.
    Communicates Contractor Performance Issues as it relates to rigging.
    Participates in interdepartmental teams as necessary

 

Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, Requirements:

    High school or equivalent.  
    Minimum of 5 years of experience in rigging activities & maintenance
    NCCCO Qualified on Rigging and Crane Operations.
    Preferred experience & knowledge of SAP
    Prefer excellent communication and problem solving skills & ability to work with diverse work groups and individuals to resolve rigging issues.   Travel will routinely include Plants A, B, OCS, Stratton Ridge and other infrastructure locations.
    Extensive working knowledge of  Mobile Hoisting Equipment, Lifting Personnel with Mobile Cranes and Derricks, Overhead Hoists, Loading and Unloading Pipe or Steel.
