Job Description

As a FINANCIAL ANALYST with Liberty Carton Company (LCC), you will work closely with the Controller, plant leadership and financial staff at our corporate headquarters (shared services) as you drive financial strategy and performance across the organization and contribute to the organization’s success. You will be a key member of a 4-person financial team supporting a budget north of $40 million. A great opportunity for professionals looking to gain more leadership experience and grow in their career.

This full time position reports directly to the Controller and is located in LCC’s plant in Haltom City, Texas (SW quadrant of Highway 820 & 377). LCC employs over 150 employees and offers a small, close-knit company work environment where everyone contributes to the success of the company and are committed to operational excellence.

ADDITIONALLY IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Prepare and finalize financial reports (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, month end close, annual audit, annual budget, etc.)
  • Manage inventory in a manner that ensures accuracy, maintains costs and minimizes losses.
  • Prepare, analyze and synthesize financial results for key stakeholders to generate a deeper understanding and to ensure accurate recording, reporting and communication of financial information.
  • Lead, improve and deliver forecasting, budgeting and strategic plan processes to provide the business with the ability to control current operations while also providing forward-looking guidance.
  • Work with all levels of the organization and serve as the lead on special projects that impact financial performance.
  • Partner with sales and operations to evaluate, understand and recommend new business opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, principles, regulatory requirements and corporate controls.

Required Skills

YOU WILL EXCEL IN THIS ROLE IF:

  • You love costing. We’re a manufacturing facility, so it’s all about cost accounting. You enjoy aspects of manufacturing - learning how machines work, how products are produced - you actually geek out a bit on it.
  • You’re a team player and positive influencer. You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and effectively interact with internal and external customers. You work effectively across teams and can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance initiatives.
  • You Drive Solutions. You have exceptional judgment and creative problem solving skills. Your knowledge and experience allow you to bring solutions to the table and execute when action is needed. Your intellectual curiosity keeps you growing and always seeking better ways to work.

Job Requirements:

TO QUALIFY, YOU WILL BRING:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with strong cost accounting skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of accounting processes and functions.
  • Strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize work and meet multiple projects deadlines timely and accurately in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player, complete work with accuracy and speed and strive for professional growth within the department and company.
  • Solid technology skills and experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards, a plus).
