Job Description

Chemical Engineer/Chemist                                                  REQ# 2783

Position Purpose:
Provide timely technical support to the consumable supplies business by developing new supplies, testing and improving current supplies and assist with quality improvements in consumable supplies.
 
Responsibilities:
 

Technical Expertise
70%

·         Participate in product development
·         Conduct performance evaluation of the card personalization supplies
·         Conduct qualification testing of consumable supplies
·         Conduct experiments and analyze data
·         Conduct card durability testing
·         Perform failure analysis for plastic card solutions
 

Leadership
30%

·         Independently lead small projects involving development or continuation support
·         Write technical reports
·         Work with suppliers to develop and qualify consumable supplies
 
Basic Qualifications:
·         Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science
·         3-5 years of experience in product development in one or more of the following: polymers, coatings, adhesives, inks, film coating/converting, laminations, UV curing industry
·         Good written and verbal communication skills
·         Strong technical performance in a fast paced environment, demonstrated capability managing multiple projects at the same time
·         Demonstrated ability to work independently on problems of moderate scope.
·         Proficient with MS products: Excel, Power Point, Outlook
·         Ability to travel up to 25% - some international travel is expected
 
Preferred Qualifications:
·         MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science
·         Experience in formulation of adhesives, coatings or inks
·         Experience in card personalization technologies
