MSI is seeking experienced candidates for a Military Liaison Officer (LNO) position at Fort Meade, MD.
Position entails an imagery component and working closely with military personnel on a daily basis.
An active security clearance is desired but clearable U.S. citizens will be considered.
Job Description
Liaison Officer (LNO) shall be responsible for communication with Combatant Commands’ imagery management and operations personnel to include any deployed operational elements, and service department visual information (VI) personnel in public affairs (PA), combat camera (COMCAM) and information operations (IO). LNOs shall provide dedicated technical expertise, operational control assistance, and 16/5 watch to cover liaison requirements with Combatant Commands including CENTCOM, NORTHCOM, SOUTHCOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, PACOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, JFCOM. This effort requires familiarity with operational procedures at the Joint level, as well as, operational practices and procedures associated with each service (Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Reserve Components).
Employee must:
• Have the ability to acquire and maintain secret clearance required to operate in a classified operational environment.
• Have corporate and employee understanding of Joint Operations.
• Have the ability to communicate and perform in an operational environment.
• Have the ability to provide and report on ongoing operational issues.
• Have the ability to write and/or provide input to operations planning.
• Have the ability to provide operations analysis and reports as it applies to VI support.
• Understand visual imaging aspects of joint operations as it pertains to Combat Camera, Public affairs and information operations.
• Become familiar with combatant commander "themes and messages" for imagery operations and ensure LNO is actively engaged in communicating these to VI assets involved.
• Understand COCOM staff structure and principles of interaction with staff elements required to ensure VI products flow from respective COCOM Areas of Responsibility (AORs).
• Understand geographic area encompassed by the various Combatant Commands and the countries within each.
• Have the ability to determine which COCOM has responsibility for an operation or exercise based on geographic reference.
• Have the ability to correctly and expeditiously report developing issues from respective COCOM or joint operations and exercises in the form of written reports and pass-downs to IOCC leadership and LNO counterparts.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with VI professionals, both military and civilian, within respective COCOM staffs and military operating units.
• Compile and maintain a current contact list of VI/IO/PA personnel required to perform the IOCC mission.
• Effectively monitor breaking news developments and be able to immediately ascertain and interpolate the impact on military operations within specific Combatant Commands.
• Have the ability to select and provide imagery (video and still) to support customer requirements.
• Advise leadership on the employment of operational and garrison VI assets.
• Have the availability to travel to attend planning conferences, site visits and exercises in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations.
• Have the ability to troubleshoot imagery, resolve imagery issues and report accordingly.
• Have the ability to resolve imagery transmission issues and provide tier II customer support.
• Have the ability to acquire required access for duty in the Pentagon.
• Knowledge, experience and ability to use SIPRNET.
