It is the primary responsibility of The Assistant Manager to manage the restaurant operation during shift, supervise service staff, conduct necessary training and provide the best service to the guests and patrons. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Grand policies, practices and procedures.
Specific Job Functions:
* Monitors service to guests in all areas of the restaurant.
* Communicates with kitchen to update them of service issues, such as VIP tables, large parties, etc…
* Interacts with guests in the dining room to ensure satisfaction.
Communicates with other managers to ensure the operation is running smoothly and consistently.
* Inspects the dining room for upkeep and maintenance.
* Maximizes usage of operating supplies and minimize overall operating expenses for the restaurant.
* Ensures that all employees are properly cashed out and that there are no unnecessary open checks in Micros.
* Assign daily and weekly side work sheets.
* Performs other job related duties as required.
# (One) 1 plus year of management experience in a high-volume restaurant, preferably in a casino environment.
# Previous experience in scheduling and staffing is preferred.
# General understanding of Food and Beverage division and working knowledge of Culinary Agreements are preferred.
# Minimum two (2) years college education in a related field and/or equivalent work experience in Food and Beverage.
# Ability to obtain a valid Health Card and Alcohol Awareness Card.
# Possess excellent interpersonal service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
# Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in very high paced and stressful environment, and work under pressure.
# Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills.
# Ability to follow directions required.
# Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines.
# Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.
# Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude and ability to deal effectively with guests, management, employees and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
# Physical ability to access all areas of the restaurant, withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50lbs. without restriction.
# Ability to access all areas of the facility and travel off property when representing MGM Grand Hotel.
# Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms.
# Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to MGM Grand standards.
# Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
# School diploma or equivalent is required
# Proof of eligibility to work in the United States. |
