Job Title: ASSISTANT MANAGER HOTEL OPERATIONS

Job Description: JOB DESCRIPTION:
It is the primary responsibility of the Assistant Manger of Hotel Operations to manage all operations for assigned department. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Grand policies, practices and procedures.



Specific Job Functions:


* Assists with the operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, the division and MGM Grand.

* Assists with monitoring fiscal budget, operations of assigned department(s) and marketing strategies to produce both short term and long term profitability for MGM Grand.

* Assists with managing the delivery and measurement of guest service within assigned department(s) consistent with the company’s core service standards and brand attributes.

* Provides input into the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure MGM Grand’s competitive position and in anticipation of changing customer needs within the dynamic hospitality and gaming environment.

* Creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; adherence to the company’s status quo third party representation philosophy, compliance with company policies, legal requirements and collective bargaining agreements.

* Ensures guest complain resolution procedures are implemented within the view of MGM Grand Class philosophy and service.

* Reviews employee work schedules and works closely with Front Desk Supervisor to balance employee needs with work demands.

* Responds to notification of unusual events or circumstances requiring mid-level management attention. Informs Hotel Manager of situations that require their attention.

* Performs front desk duties when necessary.

* Responds to emergency situations accordingly.

* Performs other job related duties as requested.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


* Three (3) years hotel operations supervisory experience in a major hotel resort complex.

* Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.

* Must have previous experience in developing, implementing and evaluating guest service standards, technical knowledge of property management systems, and proficient knowledge of PC software (MS Word and Excel).

* Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude and ability to deal effectively with guests, management, employees and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

* Must be able to frequently move freely about the office, sit for long periods and withstand various activities such as frequent walking, standing, bending.

* Maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, etc.

* Must have the ability to work indoors with frequent cold or warm temperatures with exposure to environmental factors such as CRT fatigue and able to access all areas of the facility and travel off property when representing MGM Grand Hotel.

* Minimum 21 years of age.

* Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms.

* Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.

* Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to MGM Grand standards.

* Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

* School diploma or equivalent is required.

* Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
