Job Description:

Summary: Assists the Warehouse Director and Operations Mgt. in oversight in all aspects of warehousing and transportation issues related to the operation of the warehouse.  Upon completion of assignment the Trainee is expected to relocate from facility to facility while in training - must be mobile within continental U.S.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assist in oversight of associates and expenses related to warehousing and product inventory
  • Oversee $50,000,000 inventory
  • Supervisory responsibility in the hiring, development, and disciplinary management of two warehouse shifts warehouse expenses
  • Assist in the oversight of associates and expenses related to transportation of products for the business. This responsibility includes the hiring, development, and disciplinary management of 62 full time drivers. Manage driver expenses; truck maintenance; miscellaneous expenses; repair and rental; driver routing system and routing process.
  • Interact with sales management regarding delivery and routing issues
Other general duties may include the following aspects: Coordinate equipment and supply vendors. Maintain associate morale. Interact with customer service in relation to account receivables, payables and invoicing. Assess, set and achieve performance and profit goals under direction of corporate.

Job Requirements:

Overview of Skills and Abilities
  • Experience in or ability to oversee highly technical production system with computer program interfacing
  • Prior experience in the management of supervisory and management roles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to balance customer service needs with maintaining financial goals and assessing risk for the operational aspects of the business
  • Ability to work with a variety of departments and maintain relationships in several aspects of the operation simultaneously

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school preferred specifically in warehouse and logistics management; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, & interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, & procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information & respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, & the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have computer literacy. Intermediate to advanced use of Word, Excel, Outlook, general Windows use required. Knowledge of basic Accounting software, Contact Management systems, Internet, Inventory, Spreadsheet, Word Processing software, and order processing systems, a plus. Recommended Skills: Roadnet, Sortation Software, Lucas, Payroll systems, & WMS experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Ability to be bonded. Ability to obtain a forklift operator’s certificate.
ABC License, applicable to the state requirements
