Job Description:

5Palms is a trauma and addiction recovery provider servicing military personnel, offering highly effective evidence-based clinical interventions and treatment programs. We provide behavioral health solutions for adult men and women suffering with substance use disorders, as well as co-occurring mental health disorders.

Primary Duty of the Behavioral Health Technician:

  • Aims to develop a strong patient-focused perspective to support patients in their goal of living a substance-free life.
  • Provide need for considerable support and guidance.
  • Must work closely with other staff to develop the skills necessary to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Position requires a minimum of one (1) year non-exempt level clinical experience. In addition to the duties identified below, this position performs general office support functions and assists personnel as necessary.

Employees who violate the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rule will be subject to discipline, up to and including termination.

Job Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Aid residents requiring assistance dealing with substance abuse
  • Monitor patients’ medication and maintain logs documenting
  • Adhere to medication policies and
  • Maintain reports and case histories under supervision of Lead Recovery Tech
  • Assist in the delivery of assigned educational module groups and participate in structured
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, copying, answering phones,
  • Assist in the maintenance of shift communication
  • Assist with and participate in all regularly scheduled social recovery activities and services occurring during an assigned
  • Attend and participate in mandated staff meetings and scheduled team meeting and trainings as
  • Assist with the coordination of maintaining the program food and supply needs as
  • Provide support in a professional, courteous, confidential, and timely manner to other employees or any other individual requiring assistance related to the essential functions of this
  • Maintain the confidentiality of residents, employees, and the
  • Maintain professional relationships and observe the appropriate boundaries and limits with

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
  • Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a behavioral health
  • Must have valid driver’s license and proof of
  • Must maintain CPR and First Aid
  • Experience working with active duty or veteran population preferred
  • Strong clinical
