Job Description:

This position will plan, lead and execute the implementation of key quality initiatives including control plans, process failure mode analysis reviews, gaging process development and overall procedure development component machining processes. This position will build robust quality processes and provide training of associates that will yield quality products to meet KOHLER brand and customer quality expectations.
 
Specific Responsibilities​
  • Lead and manage quality projects.
  • Provide production and gaging technical guidance.
  • Establish appropriate quality tracking mechanisms within the operations area to drive improvement based on real time data.
  • Utilize quality data to communicate technical decisions, prioritize issues to be addressed, and lead cross-functional teams to establish true root cause and error proof preventive actions. 
  • Establish and leverage relationships with internal technical experts.
  • Make appropriate decisions using quality analysis tools and critical thinking including cost / impact analysis and customer impact.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of control plans and inspection procedures or instructions.
  • Provide input as part of a cross-functional team to develop and maintain PFMEA’s.
  • Research and implement new production and gaging technology to drive quality improvements.
  • Effective plan what is to be achieved, understand the risks of decisions, involve appropriate staff members, make recommendations and drive execution.
  • Lead and mentor quality and production associates in technical and quality matters.
  • Manage the quality sections of the internal operation certification process.
  • Represent operations relative to the change management process by attending change board and specification revision meetings. Act as the voice of operations.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in ABET accredited engineering or engineering technology program.  
  • Technical quality background, with five+ years of experience in manufacturing operations working with quality improvement methods.
  • Technical knowledge of machining operations is recommended.
  • Advanced degree or track record of high performance, significant problem-solving and results with demonstrated competency at the prior level may be considered as an alternative to up to 2 years of work experience.
  • Must be assertive in preventive action activities. 
  • Ability to effectively interface with Operations team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to manage and drive change.
  • Must be able to lead, motivate and develop others.
