Job Description:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The Avionics Supervisor reports to the Avionics Department Manager on all technical & administrative matters and all matters relating to the avionics shop. The Avionics Supervisor also reports to the Maintenance Base Manager to provide line maintenance support for avionics and electrical maintenance performed on Piedmont aircraft. Responsible for ensuring all assigned avionics personnel at the facility perform in a safe and efficient manner, as well as supervising/directing the avionics/electrical activities and/or any other maintenance function(s) assigned to the avionics shop. Ensuring that all work performed is done in accordance with the appropriate policies and procedures set forth in any CFR or appropriate manual, and maintaining a work shift log of all work in progress, work completed, or work carried over, as well as performing a proper inter-shift turnover. Responsible for ensuring that all personnel are qualified to perform the maintenance functions assigned to them, and maintaining the Identification Stamp program for the avionics personnel under the direction of the Avionics Department Manager. Perform on-the-job training as needed, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid certificate, appropriate to the work supervised. (Repairman's Certificate or Airframe & Powerplant License)
  • Have at least two years' experience in the maintenance of large aircraft, one year of which must have been as a certificated repairman
  • Have a good working knowledge of aircraft & avionics systems
  • Demonstrate the ability and technical knowledge to perform the duties of the position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years maintenance experience in a part 121 environment, two years of which should have been in the position of Avionics Technician

Work Environment:

  • Standard office environment, use of computers and other office equipment
  • Some travel is required
  • Work weekends, nights, holidays and/or irregular shifts

Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
