Job Description:


The Director of Power Operation & Business Development will provide market sector leadership and direction for our Power business. This margin generating leadership opportunity is a hands-on player/coach leadership role tasked with driving an energy sales organization around expanding our footprint in power. We are seeking someone to manage & analyze our current power business, set the strategy, and create the business plan for expansion. This position will lead the sales planning process for the market, serve as the market sector expert, manage existing operations personnel, and work with sales and key accounts to expand market share and bring on new customers. We are seeking a forward thinking business leader who has experience in commercial structuring, consultative selling, strong sales methodologies, and experience leading teams. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Directly oversee power operations/logistics team members and power sales consultant and identify additional staffing requirements
  • Develop overall market growth strategies to expand our Power business, including M&A support and business model analysis
  • Develop and manage power supplier relationships and negotiate supply contracts
  • Develop and manage municipal aggregation program
  • Individually closes sales and educate, mentor, and oversee sales efforts of Natural Gas and Refined Products Sales Account Representatives
  • Develop performance forecasts, budgets, analysis and goals for Power business, sales staff and operational personal


Job Requirements:

Job Requirements

  • University degree; MBA or equivalent preferred
  • Strong B2B sales experience in energy sector
  • Minimum 7 years of sales and commercial experience in power industry, with a strong track record of new business development
  • Experience of leading people, including sales and operational functions
  • Excellent customer presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate with influence and quickly build credible relationships
  • Proven track record of developing commercial projects
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to travel is a must; frequent and regular visits to satellite offices, prospects and customers
