Job Title:   VTC Technician 2

Work Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Clearance: Current Active Secret

Education: Minium of HS Diploma/GED

Experience: 8 years of profession experience in lieu of degree, 2 years of experience with A/V technologies and vendors including Polycom, Crestron., ClearOne and BSS

Certification: PolyCom or comparable

Schedule: Monday Friday, some on call and weekend possible

Travel: Occasional

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Specific Duties:

  • Operate and maintain Video Teleconference (VTC) Polycom bases infrastructure equipment
  • Provide Tier II/Tier III technical support and assistance for conference room audio visual (A/V) suites
  • Troubleshoot basic cabling issues including CAT5, fiber and common A/V cables
  • Provide VTC technical support over the phone to users experiencing equipment problems.
  • Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the conference rooms
  • Provide daily management of site VTC and Conference Room systems such as scheduling future VTC's, troubleshooting VTC connection issues with external sites, and configuring Polycom Video endpoints to meet requirements for a given conference.
  • Maintain and handle COMSEC account and equipment keying material.
  • Troubleshoot basic Cable TV (CATV) equipment including TV Monitors, fiber receivers, and HD tuners.
  • Work with customers and operations staff in scheduling preventive and emergency maintenance to include resolution of customer tickets
  • Candidate will be required to support on call duty for responding to conference room outages
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

 

Skills:  

  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standard of customer service with outstanding written and oral communication
  • Previous experience supporting a Government and/or Department of Defense customer. 

Experience with USAF/DoD systems a plus

 

Qualifications:

  • Current Active Secret Clearance
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong investigative drive and listening skills, self-motivated individuals
  • The ability to work under pressure, stress, and be flexible with their time
  • Ability to work autonomously, self-starter
  • Able to think outside the box and make decisions quickly
  • Ability to prioritize and document tasks is a plus
