The DC Manager has responsibility for all day-to-day and long-term operations at the new LifeSpice Distribution Center in Lowell, IN. This position will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Customer Service to receive, store, manage, and ship hundreds of different products to many locations throughout the United States and occasionally overseas. The responsibilities of the DC Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Source, hire, train, and manage a team to operate the LifeSpice Distribution Center
  • Coordinate all distribution center activities and ensure all tasks are performed accurately and efficiently
  • Perform day-to-day tasks as needed, serve as back-up for sick employees
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of all procedures, SOPs, and staff to achieve accurate and efficient operations
  • Work with Accounting to develop and maintain an annual budget
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, contractors, carriers, employees, and fellow leaders
  • Ensure that the facility is operating at expected sanitation, quality, and preventive maintenance levels
  • Work with the Quality & Regulatory team to ensure facility compliance (FDA, GFSI, local municipal codes, etc.)
  • Manage, schedule, and supervise maintenance activities related to facility upkeep, routine preventive maintenance on equipment, racking system, software, inventory, etc.
  • Manage all logistics activities including receiving, internal product movement, picking, staging, and shipping
  • Be responsible for the safety of employees, truck drivers, visitors, and LifeSpice inventory

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 5-10 years in a supervisory role in distribution, logistics, shipping and receiving, warehouse management, or similar role
  • Solid computer and software systems knowledge, experience with Sage is a plus
  • Military experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain preferred
  • Experience in food manufacturing/shipping preferred
  • Extensive forklift operating experience required

Compensation

Salary will be commensurate with experience. Compensation includes a full benefit package with medical and dental insurance, paid vacation, sick and holidays, 401K plan, FSA plan, life insurance, short and long term disability insurance, as well as an annual bonus whose amount varies depending on the company and individual performance.
