Biometrics Enrollment, Analysis and Reporting Technician

Provide biometric and biographic collection support to a Department of Defense customer. The individual will perform the day-to-day operation of a complex computer-based biometric and biographic information collection system. Maintain collected data, ensuring it’s correct and meets established requirements. Develop and administer the Biometrics/Identification Program in support to the government sponsor. Work on-site, directly with the customer on a daily basis.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Collect biometrics and biographical data using off the shelf biometrics collection equipment.
Provide detailed briefing explaining biometric collection requirements and directing self-collection of biometric samples.
Enter data into computer systems via computer terminal with information gained from direct contact with persons being registered.
Identify errors or omissions. Take appropriate action to obtain required information or data by conducting research of archival records, computer listings, and other pertinent data for corrective actions. Reconcile any discrepancies.
Conduct quality assurance ensuring accuracy and completeness of collected data.
Conduct training on the use and operation of portable and fixed registration systems IAW systems user’s guides.
Utilize established methods, techniques and procedures to ensure the maximum exploitation of capabilities of in place hardware, software and biometric data.
Conduct technical research on Electronic Biometric Transmission Specification (EBTS) standards to ensure compliance for the government sponsor.
Utilize established procedures, formats, and software tools, as necessary, to ensure timely reporting of biometric data for training support and contingency operations.
Conduct technical surveys on biometrics modalities and specifications required for biometrics systems operability.
Attend biometrics related courses of instruction and conferences, visit associated or similarly related laboratories and agencies to continually assess the state of existing and emerging biometric technologies, to ensure capabilities do not become stagnant.
Provide technical biometric expertise as required in the Research & Development (R&D) and Operational Evaluation (OE) of government programs.
Submit requests for information (RFIs) from other governmental agencies (OGAs), receive email, provide weekly activity report inputs to administrative staff for all supported requirements, and complete monthly task reports as required.
Research and update current Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) ensuring they are in-line with industry specifications.
Recommend for purchase, manage, prepare, receive and inventory commercial off-the-shelf (COTs) and government off-the-shelf (GOTs) software and hardware solutions, by researching vendors online and during conferences and/or symposiums for products best suited for employment to meet the requirements of the government sponsor.

Education and Experience
BS Biology, Chemistry and/or Forensic Sciences or significant (3-4 years) relevant experience working in the field of Biometrics or Forensics.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience maintaining computer databases and ability to design, update and retrieve specialized reports.
Possess some experience working with biometrics/forensics applications, software and equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires knowledge of Department of Defense instructions governing biometrics collection and safeguarding of Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
Ability to utilize established methods, techniques, and procedures to ensure the maximum exploitation of capabilities of in place software, hardware, and associated biometrics data.Utilize established procedures, formats and software tools, as necessary, to ensure timely reporting of biometric data for training support and contingency operations.
Ability to meet time-critical tasks, perform standardized technical assignments and work independently; Attention to detail is a must.
Ability to use standard Microsoft office products specifically: Word, Excel, Outlook and Access.
Must have excellent writing and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

The job requires the ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. The job also requires the ability to set up portable computer equipment with peripherals and re-pack it into shipping containers.
The job is performed in a general office setting.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Upon hire, must successfully pass a drug test and successfully pass any random drug tests administered during employment with TATE.
