Position Overview:

Room to Read has experienced tremendous growth since our founding in early 2000 and the Development and Communications Department (DevCom) is responsible for raising the funds necessary to run the organization and implement our high-quality programs. We are seeking a dynamic administrative professional to support fundraising programs and activities across the various subteams of the DevCom team. The Global Support Analyst position plays a critical role in supporting the Marketing and Communications team, Global Partnerships, Global Business Operations and the North America fundraising team. This role will work directly with key leadership across the DevCom team including, the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications (SDMC), the Senior Director of Global Partnerships (SDGP) and the Senior Director of Global Business Operations (SDGBO) as well as the Director of North America (DDNA) by providing administrative support, streamlining and prioritizing activities and communicating directly with donors. Based in San Francisco or New York, the Global Support Analyst reports to the Senior Director of Global Business Operations. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, communicative, self-motivated, and collaborative.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership Support

  • Provide project and administrative support evenly across four teams.
  • Provide day-to-day assistance to the SDMC, the DDNA and the SDGP, including scheduling, travel (flights, hotels, inter-city transportation), communications, presentations, database updates, and other needs as and when they arise.
  • Proactively assess SDMC’s workload and needs to provide assistance streamlining communication and processes. Help to coordinate their workload to ensure they are able to balance meeting needs with time to handle strategic projects.
  • Support the SDGBO on budgeting, revenue, expenses and timekeeping for the full Development and Communications Team.
  • Provide execution support on annual North America events, including but not limited to: maintaining accurate RSVPs and reports, and attending Room to Read events, as needed.
  • Provide logistical support for team events, such as team or partner meetings
  • Calculate accurate expense reports and Room to Read credit card statements, flagging irregularities and moving the reports through the approval process for all four teams..
  • Support the Global Business Operations, Global Partnerships and North America teams on various technologies including but not limited to Engaging Networks donation pages, event registration pages and peer to peer campaigns.
  • Ensure data integrity through accurate data entry as well as support the ongoing clean-up efforts in Salesforces including, but not limited to:
    • Adding new constituents
    • Maintaining constituent records.
    • Supporting database maintenance.
  • Work with the United Kingdom Global Support Analyst as back up department level support for meetings and activities as needed.

Donor communication

  • Draft presentations/pitches for corporations, foundations, schools, and prospective donors.
  • Coordinate donor correspondence for Global Partnership and North America’s Relationship Manager donor portfolios, including stewardship reports, donor project reports, and other outreach to donors / prospects including emails being sent via Engaging Networks and via mail.
  • Assist the Leadership Team in coordinating and preparing for donor meetings and conferences. 
  • Occasional event and mailing support – coordinating logistics, food, organizing, shipping out books, etc.
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of work experience, ideally in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • History of dedicated volunteer activity and/or commitment to non-profit organizations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Adept at using Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Proactive and tenacious troubleshooting skills
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Results-oriented and strong work ethic
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and take initiative
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States; no sponsorship provided 


  • Experience with fundraising
  • Experience using CRM systems, specifically Salesforce
