The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare, has an exciting position managing the implementation of ECHO (Extension for Community Health Outcomes) Initiatives. This individual will provide training, technical assistance, project support and consultation to pediatricians and other health professionals regarding the operationalization and promotion of ECHO. Help to make an impact on a variety of public health areas, such as trauma and resilience, mental and behavioral health, epilepsy, and global food insecurities.
Some tasks include: 1. Manage Project ECHO programs, including training, development, coordination, and implementation of program activities; chapter and other stakeholder involvement; site recruitment; meeting planning; report writing and preparation of meeting minutes and conference call notes. Maintain spreadsheet to track program activities. 2. Participate in related meetings and conference calls; prepare agendas, materials, and minutes, and assist with follow-up, as necessary. 3. Manage and participate in the development and review of program materials (eg, program curricula, resource manual, training tools, sample project protocols) and promotional materials (eg, newsletter and email distribution lists, articles, flyers, and brochures). 4. Coordinate and participate in the development and review of Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Maintenance of Certification (MOC) applications for ECHO programs; ensure CME/MOC activities are implemented with fidelity and accuracy; facilitate processing of CME/MOC credit upon ECHO program completion. 5. Work with project teams to plan and implement process and outcome evaluation and coordinate the analysis and dissemination of results. 6. Respond to inquiries and correspondence from program collaborators, AAP fellows and other physicians, allied health professionals, governmental agencies, higher education institutions, and other organizations regarding program activities. 7. Manage Project ECHO sub-awards to ensure that grant requirements are being met and adhere to federal regulations, including developing and executing sub-awards, financial and progress reports. 8. Manage ECHO-related consulting agreements, subcontracts, and partnership documents and manage and track expenses and invoices as assigned. 9. Prepare program funding reports, cooperative agreement continuation materials, and other written materials to provide updates on the status of projects and activities. 10. Facilitate ECHO sessions and track program attendance. 11. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain online content and resources for the AAP ECHO Superhub and related grants, as needed. 12. Participate in project-related calls, meetings, and online events as determined by supervisor.
Qualifications needed: 1. Bachelor’s degree in public health, health administration, public administration, health policy, education or related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required. Master’s degree preferred. 2. Two to three years’ experience in related program coordination/management required, including budget management; preferably in a medical association, state public health agency, or national advocacy organization. Grants management, public health planning and administration, webinars, and telemedicine technology experience preferred. 3. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, diplomacy, and verbal/written communication skills required. Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel) and database management; experience with website maintenance/collaboration site software, (eg,SharePoint), budgeting software (eg, Acumatica), and virtual meeting platforms (eg, WebEx, Teams, Zoom) preferred. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, take initiative, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents, work both independently and as part of a team, and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Some travel and evening/weekend work required.
