Deputy Director, Veteran Care SSVF
Are you the one in a hundred of highly dedicated, experienced professionals who can meaningfully contribute to our agency's commitment to ending veteran homelessness?
How many of these questions can you answer with an enthusiastic: "Yes!"
1.) You're a veteran or significantly connected to a military family, and have the highest respect for those few among us who have offered their lives to protect our nation's freedoms.
2.) You're at a very stable place in your life where you can take on responsibilities that far exceed the expectations in even the most demanding 9-5 job to serve and support others who serve our neighbors (frequently impacted by trauma) who are going through severe crises in their lives and need to count on our team 24/7/365.
3.) You have a personal and professional history of service not because that's been your job, but because serving others represents your highest calling and deeply held personal values and aspirations.
4.) You're an incredibly capable and creative problem-solver that can help clients and lead other team members to embrace every challenge as an opportunity, a puzzle to solve, or a crisis to overcome.
5.) You bring out the best in yourself and others as a mentor, colleague, supervisor and leader, especially during times of crisis, through the highest level of emotional intelligence, constant collaboration, and highly effective communication skills.
6.) You've learned to create and sustain joyful balance in your life, where you can give everything you have to serving others and also ensure you regularly take time to recharge, restore, and care for yourself and your loved ones who count on you.
7.) Despite your impressive history of achievement and accomplishment, you're always eager to learn, grow and evolve, and recognize that journey as a lifelong pursuit you can enthusiastically embrace.
If you've answered "Yes!" to all or most of these statements, you could be the needle in the haystack who could find a position on Purpose Built Families Foundation's Operation Sacred Trust team highly rewarding and know your commitment makes a tangible, lasting difference to others, many of whom are facing the most difficult moments in their lives.
Beyond these questions, the veterans we serve and your colleagues deserve to know you have a history of success and accomplishment. That could be from your military service, professional and/or volunteer service, academic achievements, or a combination of all.
If you'd like to be considered for this position, you must follow these instructions:
1.) Write a cover letter that specifically addresses why you're applying for this position and why you believe you're an excellent candidate we should consider.

Deputy Director, Veteran Care
Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)
Duties/Expectations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
The Operation Sacred Trust ("OST") Program is charged with bringing unique approaches, experiences and expertise to serve homeless and low-income Veterans in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, located in the heart of South Florida. These counties have been hit particularly hard by the economic downturn as evidenced by the high level of poverty, low median income and skyrocketing foreclosure rates. Veterans have been particularly affected, with over 1,000 homeless Veterans and over 20,000 low-income Veterans living in the service area. Operation Sacred Trust is unique in that it combines proven traditional outreach and case management best practices with novel nontraditional service delivery methods. Funding for this initiative has been awarded by the Veterans Administration Supportive Services for Veteran Families program.
Purpose Built Families Foundation’s Operation Sacred Trust (OST) collaboration is a nationally accredited, public-private partnership for homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing. Fundamental to the approach of OST is attention to factors that create, contribute to, and address problems in living as reflected by challenges to housing stability for low-income Veteran families.
