Position Overview:

Emit is seeking a versatile individual to fill a blended role to produce Cryo-fluorescence Tomography (CFT) systems.  This position will be primarily responsible for electro-mechanical assembly of Emit products and prototypes.  This role also provides support to the functions of purchasing, inventory management and logistics.  This role requires technical proficiency with manual electro-mechanical assembly of vision systems, motorized axes, control electronics, and cabling.  The Production Technician is not expected to be an expert in each of these areas, however, this person must possess, or be able to acquire quickly, enough knowledge of these areas such that he/she is able to effectively assemble, test and troubleshoot Emit’s products.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assemble, test, debug, pack, and ship Emit Imaging’s products.
  • Identify and document non-conforming material.
  • Work with the engineering team to develop and implement feature enhancements and other sustaining engineering changes.
  • Accurately track inventory levels to ensure they are sufficient to support all product development, sales, and service activity.
  • Track and report on operational KPIs.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of assembly instructions.
  • Assemble prototypes and execute test protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in a technical field, e.g. field service, electro-mechanical assembly, vehicle/aircraft maintenance.
  • Experience troubleshooting with demonstrated ability to use DMMs, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools to identify, trap and correct malfunctions.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Proficient with use of hand-tools for electro-mechanical assembly, e.g. crimpers, pliers, diagonal cutters, heat guns, etc.
  • Proficient at board-level soldering and rework of through hole and SMT components.
  • Familiarity with basic inventory control policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree from a recognized technical trade school or successfully completed MOSQ.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, e.g. 5S, kaizen, kanban.
  • Experience using ERP systems to create, modify and close work orders.
