Description: 40-48 hours per week with paid overtime
Under the general direction of the plant manager and compliance manager, you will be responsible for a team of 4 including yourself. You will need to properly carry out and schedule tank cleanings, chemical orders, process checks and waste water load destinations. In addition you will be responsible for proper treatment of water in the appropriate system and report any malfunctions, damages or inconsistencies of equipment and personnel. Lastly you will be responsible to document and report any injuries or other employee related misbehavior.
Communication
· Daily coordination with compliance manager to assure systems work/discharge within permit
· Notify plant manager of any scheduling for outsourced equipment to complete a project
· Contribute to safety meetings with team/managers about bi-weekly issues
· Notify plant manager of an issues that could cause a failure, setback or derail any project
· Load destination, Tank levels, System function, Team dynamics, Spanish bilingual a +
. Collaborate with all departments to perform tasks in timely manner
Duties- in order of importance
· Make daily checklist in excel and save all final checklists in the appropriate files
· plan all regular tank cleanings/ notify manager of waste to dispose of, operate according equipment
. Assure task are being completed and waste water systems are functioning properly, supervise employees
· Alert management about; low chemicals, equipment failures, Incoming water quality from outside sources, assure water quality in system
· Inventory broken equipment or tools needed to perform task to plant manager
· Clean tanks and lead team in doing so with proper PPE and equipment available
· Customer service with the offloading of wastewater loads
· Maintaining an organized facility in accordance with management, SWPPP and permit guidelines
Requirements:
· Must have 1-2 years of working knowledge with backwashing carbon vessels, wastewater treatment methods, sludge management methods, air pump diagnosis, team dynamics
· Must have 1-2 years’ experience in leadership, communication, organization skills
· Must be able to use Microsoft word and excel with little guidance
. Availability to cover any missing shifts to keep normal hours of operation
. Operating yard equipment – Yard goat, vac truck, guzzler, etc.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, unpleasant odors, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and vibrations. He/She will be required to lift 25lbs regularly and occasionally lift 25-60lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud on occasion. The employee is required to follow and enforce company policy on maintaining respect among co-workers.
