Do you have sales experience working with Government accounts?

We are looking for an inside sales government account manager to represent the company over the phone!

This Government Sales Position will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying and generating new sales leads to support the government sales department. This individual will be highly motivated, self-starter able to develop a book of business, reach various department goals, identify and develop new business across multiple sales channels.

 

Expectations of the Role:

  • Conduct proactive, opportunity driven contacts per day to a select group of government accounts and customers. Meet individual established monthly goals and department initiatives, while striving to meet and exceed previous year sales and margin results.
  • Utilize current and future government contracts to penetrate new markets, onboard new customers, lead generate for outside sales and grow sales and margin dollars within a specific territory.
  • Understand the government sales cycle, contract language and budget for state and local agencies to maximize sales potential and growth.
  • Prioritize and schedule sales calls based on designated outbound calling times, send personalized emails to every buyer within the customer account base and cleanse buyer and shipping information to keep the account current.
  • Utilize prepared call guides, probing techniques and create individualized email templates to qualify and profile prospective and existing sales accounts.
  • Present, prepared value propositions to each account and assist each account with their purchasing needs to grow additional business.
  • Be proficient in our database and capable of logging all customer activities in an organized fashion.
  • Demonstrate the understanding of how to present and position the value of NS Brand Products, new manufacturer product lines and Northern Safety’s e-commerce platform to gain additional business.
  • Have the ability to utilize sales process to uncover customer objections/concerns, and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Develop strong process discipline, ability to align planning objectives with a pipeline development process to grow and develop market revenue. 
  • Maintain an understanding of the corporate sales philosophy, strategies, products, services and the distinguishing factors and advantages of supporting customers through Inside Selling Initiatives.

Skills and Experience we like to see:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior phone sales and customer service experience.  Experience working in the government realm is a Plus!
  • Highly energetic and self-starter.
  • Feels comfortable making critical business decisions aligned with growth initiatives.
  • Highly proficient computer and typing skills, which include but not limited to, MS Office programs and typing at least 35 wpm.
  • Able to work in an ever- changing environment and feel comfortable shifting priorities.
  • Should be honest, assertive, systematic with great customer service qualities.
  • Self-motivated and competitive.
  • Understand business and sales principles.
  • Persistent, organized with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to create and maintain strong business relationships with all levels of a customer’s organization.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.

 

We offer a competitive base pay + bonus pay, no weekends on day shift.  This position comes with extensive training along with ongoing continuous developmental training.
