An Assembly Technician is needed for a direct hire role with our Columbus, Ohio client. the position will build, assemble, test and QC electronic and mechanical components for lab animal (non-human) equipment. The Technician applies knowledge of electronics and mechanical principles while building equipment. He/she also provides skilled mechanical and electronic support to all areas of manufacturing.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Mechanical assembly and assembly of front and rear panel components, shelves, and electronic boxes.
• Use basic hand tools and machine tools for assembly of electro-mechanical parts.
• Use a multi-meter for testing cables and low voltage signals.
• Use a soldering iron for both cable and PCB (through-hole and surface mount) assembly.
• Pack orders.
• Other duties as assigned.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Need to be able to at least do through-hole soldering. 
• Need to be surface mount trainable or have experience with that. 
• Understanding of electronics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to follow wiring, pneumatic and system diagrams.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• 2+ years’ experience as an Assembly Technician.
• Customer service or technical field service experience a plus.
• A degree is not required, however is nice to have
