Sprague Energy, a division of Sprague Operating Resources located in Washington, PA, is a leading fuel supplier in the tri-state area specializing in serving a broad range of drilling and production, commercial, and residential customers. 


The Billing Associate in our Washington, PA office will perform billing functions which require invoicing customers, using the accounting system to generate bills, update records and collaborating with other employees in their department.

  • Process billing in an accurate and timely manner as required on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Independently research and correct any invoice discrepancies within a timely manner
  • Keep Manager/Supervisor informed of any billing discrepancies
  • Prepare and submit invoices to clients and customers via multiple methods of delivery (mail, email, portal entry)
  • Review and validate daily delivery paperwork to finalize invoices
  • Track, check, process, and resolve delinquent invoices
  • Maintain and manage daily paperwork, scanning, logs, etc. in an organized manner
  • Coordinate with accounts receivable to ensure proper billing processes are being used
  • Effectively communicate with internal (Finance, Sales, Operations) and external stakeholders (customers, other Sprague entities, etc.) of the business.   
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualified candidates for this role will have the following:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of billing experience required
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to problem solve and “own” a task from start to finish
  • Works well under pressure and with deadlines
  • Must have Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.)
  • Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift, carry and push/pull up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in a sitting position at a desk for long periods of time
