The Application Developer helps make all that happen, by working within an Agile team along with an IT Business Analyst, Scrum Master and Project Manager to design, code, test and implement information systems that support Sprague’s business operations and its customers. This position is open to fully remote work, with a preference to the Northeast US.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Work as a member of a team composed of users, analysts, developers, project managers and infrastructure personnel to design cost-effective technology solutions in support of functional business requirements
  • Design and support full-stack solutions from database to user experience
  • Application Support for enhancements and bug fixes
  • Adhere to coding standards and processes
  • Work on an Agile team and collaborate in a source-controlled environment
  • Develop/Test integration and interface routines
  • Technical design & documentation
  • Database design in conjunction with DBA
  • Application Upgrades and Conversions
  • Report Writing

Specific Developer Skills:

  • C# / .NET skills – requires a minimum of 4 years’ experience in developing customer facing (B2B), scalable, secure web applications (J2EE, ASP or similar technologies)
  • Minimum 3 years using recent releases of Microsoft .NET technology (C#, ASP.NET, XML Web Services, REST API, Web API, .NET Core, CSS)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with SQL triggers and stored procedure development (MS SQL Server preferred)
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub, OOP, XML, SOAP, UDDI/WSDL, JSON, MVC, Entity Framework, HTML5 & HTTP industry standards
  • Experience with SQL query and stored procedure development (MS SQL Server preferred)
  • MS Certification or similar experience preferred
  • Some exposure to JavaScript frameworks, preferably AngularJS and/or Angular 2+ is a plus

Qualified candidates for this role will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of 4 years of general development experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience or training that provides the required skills and abilities
  • Excellent documentation and project planning experience
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize workload, perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment and relate to customers/outside contacts and fellow employees
  • Understanding and experience with the Agile development methodology as well as the standard software development lifecycle
  • Ability to research and resolve issues independently, being detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of SQL Server and Windows Operating Systems
  • Experience with Apple iOS or Android mobile development and deployment to App stores a plus
  • Experience in transitioning Applications/Systems from On Prem to Cloud (AWS/Azure) a plus
