Draft Beer Line Cleaning Technician I

Job Summary

The Draft Beer Line Cleaning Technician I provides services of cleaning and maintaining draft beer systems in restaurants and bars as outlined by CBG Draft Services and recommended by the Brewers Association of America. This is an entry-level position into the field of draft beer with daily exposure to beer systems, how they operate, but more importantly how to maintain them. The Draft Beer Line Cleaning Technician’s purpose is to uphold the mission of CBG Draft Services: to ensure that every pint poured has the quality and taste that the brewer intended.  We have openings in our branch office locations throughout North Carolina: Asheville, Hickory, Charlotte, Piedmont (Greensboro), Raleigh-Durham, Fayetteville, Greenville, Jacksonville and Wilmington.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned) 

• Flush beer lines with appropriately measured cleaning solution
• Disassemble and clean all faucet parts and attachments including FOBs and keg couplers
• Replace any damaged or missing parts
• Flush all cleaned beer lines with fresh clean water
• Ensure all cleaned beer lines pass pH testing before returning to beer
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Attend company meetings as scheduled
• Complete training and certification as outlined by CBG

 Physical and Mental Requirements: 

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, kneel, crawl or bend, and perform repetitive motions of the hands and/or wrists.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, and be able to move kegs which weigh close to 165 pounds.
• High mental and visual attention required for planning difficult work methods and sequences to obtain size, shape, or physical qualities of product. AND/OR Extremely close visual attention such as making delicate adjustments to control high speed operations to exercise very precise muscular control.
• Must be able to go up and down ramps and stairs frequently.
• Constant indoor and outdoor work with frequent change in temperature

 

Environmental Conditions: 

While performing the duties of this position, the worker is exposed to inside environmental conditions, extreme heat, potential for physical injury, exposure to hot fluids, pressurized vessels and transfer lines, strong odors, chemicals, and moving machinery. 

Equipment, Machines and Software Used:

This position may require the regular use of draft line cleaning cannister equipment, centrifugal pumps, electrical heating or equipment that is subject to change over time and involves the handling of pressurized gases and liquids.

 

Education and Experience:    

• Clean and valid driving record.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Training Available
