Responsibilities

OBXtek is recruiting for a Systems Administrator - Linux to work for the Department of Treasury.

**This position is onsite at the headquarters building at 1500 Pennsylvania Ave, NW in WDC.

** There is a possibility of occasional work at the Treasury Department in Vienna, VA with no work from home option.

This position is responsible for the day to day System Administration of the Treasury Foreign Intelligence Network (TFIN) Linux application servers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support, based on industry standards, to clients for all system problems and anomalies. Support trouble tickets submitted via the electronic problem reports system.
  • Maintain and secure Windows server security patching and hardening according to the appropriate Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
  • Develop deployment packages, configure firewall rules, and respond to security requests for specific vulnerabilities.
  • Configuring Active Directory group policy according to industry-standard best practices with regards to security.
  • Prepare systems (mission servers, UNIX workstations) for security accreditation.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Linux and Solaris operating systems, to include Operating System (OS), application software patches and service packs.
  • Perform user account, group, and directory maintenance on all system as needed.
  • Manage user and group policies and rights; conduct auditing for same.
  • Review security, network, and system auditing and remedy identified anomalies.
  • Analyze and resolve problems associated with UNIX workstation and server hardware, operating systems, applications software, and adhere to mandated requirements and guidelines.
  • Prepare, test, and implement scripts to simplify system tasks for domain core services.
  • Perform backup and recovery procedures utilizing and managing media backup of RAID storage devices.
  • Identify and resolve security related server, workstation and application issues.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity/network connection issues.


Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance with SCI read-in within the past 12 months

Immediate family members must also be US Citizens (immediate family is defined as Mother, Father, Brother, Sister, Spouse, Children, or co-habitant).
