Receptionist/Office Assistant

The AAP is currently working remotely with an anticipated return to work date of March 28, 2022.  The re-entry plan will be a hybrid approach.

Seeking a forward-facing outgoing individual to join the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare to greet, assist, and direct American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) staff, members, and guests; operate the Cisco Attendant Console System; and provide administrative support for Facility Operations activities and other areas of the AAP as needed.

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • At least 6 month’s general administrative or receptionist/customer service experience required. Experience operating an attendant console preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication, diplomacy, and customer service skills required, as well as fluency in English.
  • Must pay close attention to detail, take initiative, work both independently and as part of a team, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents, and promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Strong technical acumen with proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn and apply new technologies; experience with electronic visitor management systems (eg, Envoy) and Cisco Attendant Console preferred.
  • Some overtime and weekend work to support on-site meetings may be required.
