INTERMEIDA is looking for a Senior Accountant to manage the revenue cycle of awards, and to support related accounting activities. You will be based in either our Sunnyvale, CA office, report to the Director of Finance and work with other financial team members along with program and operations staff at all levels of the organization.
Administer Accounts Receivable and Revenue
Working with finance and development staff, initiate billing invoices related to grants and contracts
Develop the A/R Tracker and aging report to ensure timely submission and payment of client invoices
Assist with revenue recognition of awards and contracts
Prepare monthly reconciliation schedules including grant and contract A/R, unbilled, and deferred
Prepare the monthly net asset rollforward
Support the annual revenue budgeting process
Prepare quarterly/annual donor financial reports
Support Audit and General Accounting
Provide support to the annual organizational audit
Provide support to the annual Form 990 preparation
Perform monthly bank reconciliations for ICCT’s three foreign entities (China, Europe, Brazil)
Support the implementation of a new payroll/timekeeping system and purchase order system
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and 5+ years of experience
Experience with accounting software and data entry (ICCT uses the Sage Intacct ERP)
Solid understanding of accounting theory, including the interactions between the balance sheet and statement of activities
Prior experience in award management including invoicing, A/R, reporting, revenue recognition in a nonprofit setting is highly preferred
Demonstrated ability in analyzing data and making data-driven recommendations
Experience implementing policies and procedures in a complex organization
Interest in working with an international staff of 100+ to support ICCT's mission
This full-time position will be based in our Washington, D.C. or San Francisco, CA office and have a salary of $74,600 (DC) or $82,900 (SF). Requires Security Clearance
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
2+ years of accounting experience.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
