Job Description

Position: Senior Associate to the Provost and Executive Vice President

 

Under the direction of the Provost and Executive Vice President, the Senior Associate to the Provost-EVP oversees operations of the Office of the Provost, as well as works collaboratively with college leadership to establish & enhance division- and college-wide initiatives.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the divisional development of policy and practice, including research, assessment, development, and proposals, at the direction of the Provost-EVP
  • Develop and maintain an integrated approach to communications for the division, including Board of Trustee reports, communications with School Deans and Associate Provosts, as well as serve as the Strategic Marketing liaison for the division
  • Manage general recordkeeping for the Office of Academic Affairs, including purchase requests, budget verifications, correspondence, hiring/staffing documentation, calendars, etc.
  • Conduct special administrative projects and analyses on a wide range of subjects related to the overall management and operations of the college, as well as endeavors initiated by the Provost-EVP
  • Support ongoing work of the Office of Academic Affairs at large, particularly related to faculty workload and compensation in Banner, the College High School Program, faculty professional development and articulation agreements
  • Manage the collection and organization of documents, data, records, schedules, and appointments related to the College’s Middle States Self Study, whenever it is in process
  • Coordinate with School Deans to guarantee the timely and accurate submission of all required Retention, Tenure and Promotion (RTP) materials and maintain a summary of RTP candidate progress for the Provost-EVP
  • Oversee the annual evaluation process of all employees under the purview of Academic Affairs, including Management Confidential; prepare appropriate evaluation instruments in consultation with the Provost-EVP
  • Participate in the hiring processes for staff and administrators under Academic Affairs in consultation with the Provost-EVP
  • Collaborate with Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (EMSA) to ensure effective utilization of the Testing Center and Student Success Teams
  • Liaise with any grant operations on campus on behalf of the Provost-EVP
  • Other job-related duties as assigned by the Vice President.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years’ experience in higher education, preferably with work in or related to academic affairs
  • Experience working directly with the most senior levels of an institution
  • Ability to effectively strategize and engage various groups and constituents, including students, faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Excellent communication/customer service skills, organizational and analytical ability, an understanding of systems and how they work, experience in framing new initiatives, a strong focus on outcomes and communicating results
  • Experience fostering collaboration and a sense of shared purpose across units and functional areas
  • Strong understanding of how to use data to inform analyses for program assessment and development, as well as for institutional assessment and accreditation studies
  • Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge about diversity, equity, and inclusion as critical components of academic excellence and student success
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

 

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree.

Starting Salary: Commensurate education and experience
