Job Description

Position: Executive Associate to the Vice President of Enrollment Management & Student Affairs 


Under the general direction of the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, the Executive Associate to VPEMSA oversees operations of the Office of the Vice President, as well as works collaboratively with division leadership to establish & enhance division-wide initiatives.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the cross-divisional development of policy and practice, including research, assessment, development, and draft proposals, at the direction of the VPEMSA
  • Divisional budget development and management, at the direction of the VPEMSA
  • Conduct special administrative and research studies on a wide range of subjects related to the overall management and operations of the college, as well as special projects and programs initiated by the VPEMSA
  • Serve on committees and taskforces including, but not limited to, enrollment management, first year experience, financial aid, registration, retention and transition, as the VPEMSA designee
  • Liaise with any grant operations on campus on behalf of the VPEMSA
  • Develop and implement an effective and comprehensive Division-wide data assessment plan which will facilitate the improvement of student learning and institutional effectiveness;
  • Develop and maintain an integrated approach to communications for the Division, including Board of Trustee reports, communications with EMSA Cabinet, and area/event messaging to students, as well as serving as the Strategic Marketing liaison for the Division;
  • Strengthen staff professional development by creating and maintaining a professional development plan, and by implementing and assessing professional development tools/opportunities;
  • Cultivates and implements short and long-term organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures for the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs which respond to the changing needs and requirements of the College’s student community and which enhance the College’s liability for student recruitment and retention purposes.
  • Oversee and direct Divisional onboarding and staff mentoring initiatives;
  • Identify and apply for recognition for Divisional enrollment and student affairs practices at NASPA, NACAC, AACRAO, ACPA, and other regional and national associations;
  • Management for at least one direct report;
  • Other job-related duties as assigned by the Vice President.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-4 years’ experience in higher education, preferably with work in or related to student services and/or enrollment management
  • Experience working directly with the most senior levels of an institution.
  • Ability to effectively strategize and engage various groups and constituents, including students, the president, trustees, faculty, senior administrators, alumni, donors, and major benefactors.
  • Proven experience in providing leadership, oversight, and strategic direction. Excellent organizational skills and analytical ability, an understanding of systems and how they work, experience in framing new programs, a strong focus on outcomes, and experience in communicating results.
  • Experience leading change and fostering collaboration and a sense of shared purpose across
  • units and functional areas.
  • Strong understanding of how to use data analysis to inform strategic and tactical plans for enrollment management, optimizing the allocation of staff and financial resources throughout the enrollment processes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge about diversity, equity, and inclusion as critical components of academic excellence and student success.


Preferred Qualifications:  Master’s degree


Starting Salary: Commensurate with experience
