Reporting into the Safety Service Supervisor you will come on board and join an established team of service technicians as our new Apprentice Service Technician at our site in Houston.
As our new Apprentice Service Technician your role will involve you being fully trained up to become a qualified service technician in Fire Rescue Safety equipment. This exciting opportunity will involve you learning and developing in the areas of testing and servicing our state-of-the-art fire safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, breathing apparatuses and fire systems. You will be required to go on board our customer vessels to service and test the fire equipment with the qualified service technician.
What You Can Expect from the Role
You will be learning and observing the Servicing and testing of fire equipment, immersion suits and life Jackets
You will have the opportunity to conduct tests supervised on the firefighting foam from the foam systems that are located on board the vessels
Responsible for the servicing of the emergency breathing devices
Shadowing the qualified service technician when conducting Hydrostatic testing of air cylinders as well as Co2 cylinders and fire extinguishers
Collaborating with the Service Operations Manager to arrange own monthly schedule
Accountable for following store requisition processes and maintain accurate stock levels and records
Conducting and preparing Safety Reports to be inputted on to the IFS system

The Experience and Skills You Will Have
Educated to High School Level or Equivalent
Must have a TWIC card
Valid driver’s licence
Driven energetic people person
You will have a passion for learning and developing
Team orientated but also comfortable working on your own initiative
Experience working with servicing fire equipment is desired but not essential
3+ years of experience in the Marine industry is preferred
Please note You may have to work some Weekends and Over time is mandatory and will be paid.
