Job Description

Buffalo State, State University of New York, seeks candidates for the position of Board Certified Behavior Analysis Program Coordinator in Exceptional Education.

The Department of Exceptional Education at Buffalo State College is accepting applications to fulfill a current need for an individual to direct a new residency-based Master’s Program in Applied Behavior Analysis and an Advanced Certificate Program in ABA. In addition to managing the daily operations of the program, this individual will be responsible for teaching course content and supervising students. This individual will serve as liaison with The Summit Center to manage the residency program itself and the resident candidates. This is a non-tenure track position with a calendar year professional obligation.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Direct residency-based Masters’ Program in ABA and Advanced Certificate in ABA
  • Assure that all program objectives are met
  • Prepare candidates for recommendation for NYS licensure in ABA and certification from BCBA
  • Teach course offerings in ABA program
  • Manage or supervise resident candidates to ensure accurate implementation of evidence-based educational and clinical practices
  • Perform ongoing adjustments to current programs as needed
  • Support resident candidates in meeting productivity requirements
  • Partner with the Summit Center to develop, implement, supervise and evaluate residency-based program
  • Effectively collaborate with all BSC and Summit team members, community agencies, schools, medical practices, therapy providers and other entities as appropriate
  • Strictly adhere to BCBA Professional and Ethical Compliance Code, applicable license code of ethics, and regulation
  • Attend faculty and staff meetings, trainings, and other meetings as requested.
  • Maintain licensure and/or certifications as well as annual trainings as designated by the organization and regulatory agencies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters or doctorate in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or related field with active NY professional license
  • Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA or BCBA-D
  • Experience in higher education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NYS Licensed Behavior Analyst
  • Evidence of recent work as a faculty member at an accredited higher education institution
  • Demonstrated successful experience working with children and adolescents who are diagnosed with a developmental delay, communication disorder and/or an autism spectrum disorder
  • Able to regularly perform the Behavior Specialist/analyst functions with significant independence and expertise and must be relied upon as a resource to guide team performance
  • A track record of meritorious contributions in behavior analysis
