Job Overview:

The Systems Engineer supports the overall technology strategy and streamline business processes across HQ and Operations for National Storage Affiliates, which includes 700+ self-storage stores managed by NSA. This role will have the unique opportunity to build "greenfield" systems and applications like Atlassian, Call Tracking Metrics (CTM), Power BI, MS SQL server and set our technology strategy and direction for the future. This role will work in various areas, including front end web technologies, integrations, and supporting technology projects and service desk.

This role with NSA, you will report to the Senior Vice President, Head of Technology to support multiple technology development initiatives. You will also be supported by an internal and external teams as well as an external vendor that provides technology assistance to operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assists with organizing, implementing Technology, and Operations service desk team tasks
• Configure and customize Atlassian tools in JIRA, Confluence, Kanban etc.
• Designs templates for various business process to support technology projects initiatives
• Work with internal Technology team and external vendors to configure and customize CTM configurations
• Help managing key technology projects like Cilio, and Power BI in JIRA, Confluence and Kanban board
• Develop reports and dash boards to support technology

*Responsibilities of this role may change as the department's needs change. However, this role's responsibility will focus primarily on building and optimizing the technology and other departmental business processes using various technology tools.

Compensation Range: $60,000-$63,000 plus 5% short term incentive

Qualifications:

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field
• Experience of configuring Atlassian application using JIRA, Confluence and Kanban.
• Experience in software development and SDLC methodology.
• Experience with tools like WordPress, and blogs.
• Familiarity in Database design and modeling.
• Knowledge in SQL and RDBMS development, preferably with MS SQL and MS SQL server.
• Experience with API integration with internal and external systems.
• Familiarity with PVCS revision control tools.
• Experience with MVC or middleware frameworks.
• Familiarity with virtualization management tools.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and on a team.
• Attention to detail, commitment to quality.
• JIRA (Atlassian) certification is a plus

Ability to learn new technologies quickly and manage multiple projects at once.
