Reports to:  Senior Property Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities

• Heavy involvement in property tax payment-scheduling and accruals
• Assist with preparation and evaluation of budgets and forecasts for property taxes
• Assist in preparing documentation related to acquisition transactions
• Prepare annual business personal property filings
• Navigate state, city and municipal government requirements to obtain business licenses (duty may be temporary)
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual sales & use tax filings
• Perform various general ledger accounting tasks
  • Develop, document and post journal entries
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
• Support analysis of financial statement accounts
• Assist Senior Accountants in preparing recurring and ad hoc management reports
• Support policies, procedures and internal controls which are in place to protect company assets and ensure financial statement accuracy
• Other projects to support management, including income tax accruals and filings

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in accounting
• Zero to three years accounting experience
• General-ledger accounting skills preferred
• Experience with tax filings – e.g. sales tax, real estate tax, personal property tax, income tax
• Strong communication skills are mandatory
• Experience in real-estate or multi-unit-businesses is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions

Compensation rage:  $52,500 – $67,500 

FLSA Status:  Exempt
