The position:

AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Software Developer-Project Lead to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation.

This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Programmer.

Program Information:

The Modeling & Simulation Enterprise Applications (MSEA) product suite supports modeling and simulation (M&S) environments; trainer systems; test and evaluation (T&E); analysis; live, virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R&D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners.  All products are government owned, developed and managed.  The Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) is a continually evolving synthetic environment generator that supports multiple platform/services training, testing, analysis and research and development.

A typical day as a Senior Software Developer-Project Lead may include:

  • You will be leading the software development, software integration, customer training and demonstrations for the AMIE/CDE team.  This software is integrated into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats. 
  • Supervises and directs team personnel for day-to-day tasking. 
  • Coordinates with customers, manages expectations for team deliverables. 
  • Ensures customer/stakeholder satisfaction. 
  • Manages leadership expectations and reports all potential risks. 
  • Communicates project status and team needs to leadership. 
  • Manages team finances, while working with the MSEA Financial Team on monthly financial statements, including MSRs for customers. 
  • Ensures schedule and requirements are met. 
  • Works with partner projects to communicate deliveries and schedules. 
  • Manages documentation, briefs, reports, and answer data calls.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of standard programming algorithms, design patterns, and object-oriented software design.
  • Evaluates and review C++ language code Programming using C++, Python 3, HTML.
  • Develops Parallel processes, threading, process communication.
  • Develops Web-based applications using development technology.
  • Collaborates with team members to design future enhancements.
  • Must have familiarity with time-series analysis a plus.


  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Degrees in Engineering, Math, and Physics may qualify with  10 year of  C++ experience.
  • Project Management experience, including budget management
  • Presentation/briefing experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with scripting, database, and programming languages such C++.
  • Experience with scripting, database, and programming in Python 3, and HTML desired.
  • Experience support Special Access Program (SAP) efforts desired.
  • DoD Secret security clearance

Physical environment and working conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site.  In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
