Job Description



OBXtek is recruiting for a Project Manager III to work on the new PEO-T contract for USTRANSCOM.


The tasks for this person will be, but not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for the successful execution and completion of an IT project form inception to delivery.
  • This position involves interfacing with the customer concerning technical and operational issues; preparing Plan of Actions and Milestones (POAMs) and status reports; contractual clarifications; and proper supervision and accounting of all project personnel.
  • May provide guidance and technical direction to less experienced PMs.
  • May perform one or more of the following activities:
    • assembling project team;
    • assigning individual responsibilities;
    • identifying appropriate resources needed;
    • developing schedule to ensure timely completion of project;
    • meeting deadlines of project;
    • project scope management;
    • project time management;
    • project cost management;
    • project quality management;
    • project HR management;
    • project communications management;
    • project risk management; and
    • project procurement management.

Standard work hours are 0700-1700.


*Most of the work can be done remotely at this time. There will be, however, meetings onsite from time to time.

Active Secret Clearance


5 years' relevant experience in the following:

  • Possess strong working knowledge of Acquisition program plans consistent with policies, requirements, and direction.
  • Proven ability to analyze interrelated issues and development of recommendations to solve problem
  • Ability to coordinate activities and schedules with internal and external organizations and customers to guide program accomplishment through phases of the acquisition cycle
  • Experience establishing management controls such as milestones, expenditure rates, metrics and management reviews to reflect Acquisition program status and to provide early detection of problems.
  • Ability to recommend tradeoffs to cost, schedule and performance. Familiarity with the application of industry best practices to program guidance, planning, and solutions.
  • Experience in preparation and tracking status of Acquisition program-related documents submitted for review/approval by Command authority.
  • Familiarity with accessing and supporting program information in the government provided portfolio management tool
  • Experience building an acquisition schedule in Microsoft Project for internal tasks, durations, task flows, interdependencies, etc., major milestones, and key events
  • Possesses the ability to produce and/or review of all Acquisition program documentation as specified in the Integrated Defense Acquisition, Technology, & Logistics Life Cycle Management Framework including Integrated Master Schedule (IMS
  • Experience tracking and monitoring of acquisition documents
  • Familiarity providing Supply Chain Deployment and Distribution Subject Matter Expert (SME) support and conducting supply chain analysis commercial supply chain management best practices Supply Chain Operational Reference (SCOR) issues


  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
