The Natural Gas Scheduler responsibilities will include forecasting customer requirements, communicating requirements to Traders, submitting nominations to Utilities and pipelines, tracking the flow of gas and supply imbalances and entering volume and cost information into various software systems As a Scheduler, you will be communicating to gas Traders any events that may impede current or upcoming business discovered while monitoring daily emails, pipeline and Utility electronic postings. In addition to Traders, the position requires the individual to work directly with account managers, other suppliers, and customers to coordinate the delivery of natural gas and minimize imbalance costs and penalties. If you love attention to detail, are good with math and Excel, and pride yourself on clear and concise communication, this is the job for you! Based in Portsmouth, NH this role will handle our Mid-Atlantic Utilities and pipelines.
What you'll be doing:
Forecast the daily requirements of customers communicate changes in required quantities to traders
Nominate the required daily natural gas quantities to Utilities (LDC’s) and pipelines under the supervision of Senior Schedulers
Develop a strong knowledge of the rules, procedures, and timelines for all pipelines and Utilities (LDC’s) within a designated market area and gain familiarity with all pipelines and Utilities on which Sprague operates
Track and reconcile nominations, deliveries, imbalances, and actual customer usage
Enter volume and cost information into SolArc Natural Gas and Safari and verify third party invoices for sales and purchases as they become available
Respond to inquiries from customers, consultants, account managers and accountants
Job requires being available for after-hours calls during the week, as well on-call rotation approximately one weekend per month
Other duties as required.
The newest awesome candidate will have the following:
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business or math
Prior energy industry experience is a plus
Advanced computer literacy with Microsoft Excel
Strong mathematical aptitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and relate to customers, outside contacts and fellow employees.
