Provide successful administration and coordination of Envision community programs and special projects. Assist community programs team in the creation of new community programs while coordinating existing programs, through the stages of development, promotion, implementation and evaluation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE
Coordinate the development, planning and implementation of support groups, programs and activities for individuals of all ages with vision impairment to include facilitation of events.
Review and support project goals and milestones of community programs and activities.
Participate in the evaluation process of programs and activities, utilizing information gathered to proactively seek opportunities for improvement in order to increase program participation and to deepen participant relationships.
Monitor, track and report on status of community programs related to goals and milestones.
Provide administrative support as needed. This may include, but is not limited to, maintaining databases, updating program files and spreadsheets, managing calendars and program mailings and conducting phone calls.
Assist with development of material for newsletters, website and other communications that promote programs and services for the visually impaired.
Foster collaborative relationships with community organizations, universities, Delta Gamma, healthcare professionals, school districts and teachers to ensure consistent communication and actively seek opportunities to promote Envision’s mission and community programs.
Accommodate the schedule of community program events and activities, to include evenings and weekends as needed.
Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
Associate’s degree or equivalent education required.
Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Organizational Management and Leadership, Education or related field preferred; Combination of education and experience wherein the skills and abilities to perform the responsibilities and functions have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in program development and/or nonprofit organizations.
Desire to learn and understand the needs of individuals of all ages who are blind or visually impaired, and the passion to work with them.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to:
Remain flexible with schedule in order to accommodate the schedule of community program events and activities.
Effectively communicate with various individuals and to present publicly with excellent public speaking skills.
Work independently as well as effectively work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
Manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Maintain follow through and persistence in correspondence.
Plan and coordinate events.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required with the ability to learn and master other technology and software programs as needed.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.
Must maintain a current First Aid certification.
Must maintain a current CPR certification.
Current driver’s license and driving record in good standing required.
Ability to successfully complete required DOT driver’s certification and successfully complete DOT physical and drug screen, per DOT regulations.
