BlackRock Resources, LLC is looking for a self-driven and energetic Renewable Natural Gas/Landfill Gas (RNG/LFG) degreed Project Engineer with mid-level experience (5-10 years). Position will work on design and construction of RNG/LFG projects. Experience in landfill gas collection design would be ideal but is not required. Candidate should be capable of working independently and as part of a growing team of diverse engineers. As part of the RNG/LFG design/construction team, you will support RNG/LFG project development and design from design through construction, startup and commissioning. You will be part of a wide-ranging team of engineers working for a fast-growing company maximizing renewable natural gas derived from landfills. Projects will include RNG/LFG design, compliance reporting, operations, and maintenance, and construction oversight. The position will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for supporting design, engineering, and construction activities to grow the service in addition to supporting an existing client network.

Job Description / Responsibilities

  • Perform the feasibility analysis, planning, design, permitting, construction and monitoring of RNG/LFG systems.
  • Work with and potentially manage third party Engineers in project design and preparation of construction documents
  • Develops Mass Balance and plant performance models, and monitors plant performance post construction.
  • RNG/LFG and environmental monitoring data management, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Assist in developing project scopes, objectives, and budgets and effectively communicate and support key stakeholders including the project manager, project engineers, and other members of the project team.
  • Experience with HMI, PLC programming and plant automation.
  • Review designs, drawings, calculations, and permit documents.
  • LF odor management and mitigation plans.
  • Evaluation of wellfield data, development, and implementation of wellfield tuning strategies, and GCCS system troubleshooting.
  • Air permitting and compliance reporting related to RNG/LFG management systems.
  • LFGTE, RNG, and beneficial use project development.
  • Mechanical equipment, including flares, design and modifications.
  • Travel to sites during construction and startup phases, in order to monitor project status

Base Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree is required.
  • Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civil depending on experience.
  • PE license is not required but a plus.
  • 5-10 years of related project work and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent engineering software is a plus but not required.
  • A self-starter possessing strong communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Desire to work on multiple projects in parallel.
  • Relocation or possible work from home opportunity.
  • Requires travel to job sites and occasional out of the local area overnight stays. (25%-50% travel)
  • Able to work in a team environment on projects.
