MMA provides services and solutions in the areas of program management, personnel security, training, process improvement, and security. Our firm provides cleared professionals for the Department of State, Department of Homeland Security, Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, Special Operations Command, TRADOC, Defense Health Agency, National Institutes of Health, and Indian Health Services. MMA provides subject matter experts, program managers, project managers, analysts, intelligence analysts, security professionals, logistics specialists, trainers, adjudicators, budget analysts for a wide variety of mission critical requirements.

This position will be stationed in Washington, D.C.

Position Summary

The Data Analyst shall provide support to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the development and application of performance metrics and workforce analytics, to include development and maintenance of Tableau Dashboards and recommendations in the support of the Federal client mission. Responsibilities include conducting organizational studies and evaluations, designing systems and procedures, conducting work simplification and measurement studies, and preparing operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively. The Data Analyst will support a number of key SEVP (Student and Exchange Visitor Program) tasks.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Responsibilities:

1) Performance Management and Workforce Analytics

  • Solid understanding of workforce and performance management analysis and tools
  • Ability to conduct detailed research and analysis of pragmatic data
  • Ability to educate and inform senior management on various alternatives
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior Federal clients/personnel to identify the following:
    • Major client processes and associated outputs
    • Existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process maps, and work breakdown structures
    • Delays in production and challenges
    • Workforce planning data sources
    • Future work initiatives and anticipated work surges
  • Develop a detailed understanding of major client activities including:
    • Process steps, timing, staffing requirements to produce outcomes/outputs, and identification of backlogs/delays
  • Write SQL queries to retrieve data from a large, homegrown database
  • Develop Tableau dashboards to connect data queries with existing data and processes
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts to clean and manage large data sets
  • Develop briefing materials to present results to Federal client leadership
  • Develop and maintain project artifacts including:
    • Agendas, minutes, project plans, and correspondence
  • Facilitate client meetings, as needed

2) Project Management Support

  • Ability to read and interpret government policy, regulations, and directives
  • Track all action items, client requirements, deliverables, and project plans throughout the project lifecycle
  • Contributes to production of contractual deliverables
  • Maintains effective relationships with the federal program manager and team members

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to be cleared and obtain Public Trust (T4) and DHS Suitability
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher with four (4) years of management consulting experience and two (2) years of data analytics experience
  • Three (3) years of solid experience and knowledge of Tableau, Visio, Python, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency with SQL and SharePoint
  • Ability to review, synthesize, and prepare highly technical, sensitive, and complex documents, briefing materials, management directives and correspondence
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive data analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Academic degree in business management, statistics, or related field
  • Knowledge of Federal programs, DHS, and/or immigration-related programs
