Job Description:

DUTIES:

Cash Receipts:

• Responsible for coordinating the daily cash receipts process including the daily deposit of checks, control of cash receipts, and cash assets of the corporation. Assist with daily deposit upload for all remote depositing locations from Key Bank to Oracle.
• In the Oracle Receivables Module, responsible for:

• Running the automated processes to create receipt batches in Oracle for both the incoming electronic (wires/ACH) receipts and daily deposited receipts.
• Upload the previous day's day electronic receipts from Key Bank's website into Oracle.
• Identify and apply daily incoming electronic receipts, checks, and Federal Letter of Credit draws and all receipts received at Central Office.
• Reconcile check batches and electronic receipt batches in the Accounts Receivable Oracle module.

• Assist with follow-upon up and resolution of the unapplied receipts. Interact with campuses, sponsors and Sponsored Program Services (SPS) as necessary in the identification and posting of receipts.
• Responsible for the remote deposit capture machine and updates of the software used by the Research Foundation to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the application in the day-to-day cash receipts process.
• Work independently submitting, testing, and approving system changes in conjunction with ITS system's analysts to enhance the cash receipt process.
• Assist in the development of monitoring tools for the treasury function and use technology for continuous evaluation of upgrades to aid in accurate and reliable financial data.
• Assist with resolving help desk tickets relating to cash receipts and provide cash receipts back up to campus and central office personnel as necessary. Provide guidance to users on how to find this information in the Oracle system when needed.
• Update training documents and provide support for Treasury ICE.

Payroll/LD:

• Review for accuracy and input biweekly payroll, SUNY payroll, and labor distribution (LD) activity for all Research Foundation operating locations that do not input their own LD and payroll information.
• Contact campus operating locations pertaining to questions about payroll, SUNY payroll, and assist in documentation or research of any payroll problem.
• Backup for biweekly payment of all voluntary withholdings such as the united way, parking, union dues, etc.
• Backup for monitoring and take necessary action on New York State Unclaimed property for all payroll checks.
• Back up for the administration of stop check and reissue process.
• Responsible for distributing payroll correspondence.
• Communicate with new employees receiving check payments to encourage direct deposit.
• Aid in other departmental projects under the direction of the Cash and Payroll Managers.
• Be an effective team player by working with others to accomplish the above objectives and for professional development as an employee of the RF. This would include a constant review of processes being performed for continuous improvements; actively participating in the development and monitoring of performance measures for the team. Project a positive image of the Finance Office and the RF by how you conduct your daily activities.

Requirements:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in accounting, auditing, or grants administration.
• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Oracle Applications experience is desirable.
