Our client in Cleveland, OH is looking for a Data Engineer to play an instrumental role in advancing the Data Science and Analytics initiatives. This role will focus on building out a new foundation for Data Analytics using modern Microsoft Azure Data technologies.

 

**Location: remote, preference for people in EST / CST

 

Responsibilities

  • Create clean, organized, and optimized data sets for Data Science and Analytics
  • Implement and maintain new data warehouse and pipelines using Microsoft Azure
  • Maintain and expand cloud infrastructure for ETL processes
  • Collaborate with the Software Development team on data structure and design of new and existing applications
  • Contribute to data warehousing, data architecture, data quality processes, data warehousing design and implementation
  • Create pipelines and data analytics solutions utilizing structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
  • Implement data quality checks and identify potential data reliability issues

 

Must have qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience with advanced knowledge in Data Architecture & Engineering
  • 1+ years’ experience with Azure Cloud Data Services (Data Factory, Data Lake, etc)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS SQL Server and T-SQL
  • Eager to follow along and educate the team on major developments in the industry related to modern Data Architecture, Analytics, Design, etc…
  • Ability to work with a variety of individuals from various backgrounds and fields

Good to have qualifications

  • Experience in the Insurance industry
  • Experience with ETL Platforms (Azure Data Factory, SSIS)
  • Experience with Database Administration (SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL)
  • Experience with the Python programming language
  • Understanding of the GIT source control system
  • Experience working in BI systems such as Power BI
  • Good understanding of Financial & Compliance Reporting
  • Experience creating data sets for Data Science and AI/ML solutions
