Columbus, Ohio client has a contract opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer who will be involved in all phases of software development, from requirements definition to production releases. The client leverages Agile and Lean techniques, such as acceptance test-driven development, continuous integration, and story-based iterative development.
Responsibilities:
You will be embedded in a cross-functional team of analysts, developers, product managers, and testing staff, collectively striving to quickly deliver high-quality, high-value software. This contrasts to most other environments where the culture encourages “throwing the code over the wall” for Quality to test.

Use your experience and judgement to collaborate with other team members on optimal architecture and design for a given problem set.

Establishing and maintaining documentation for design decisions, solutions, user guides
Perform a strong commitment to validation and verification testing
Participate in design sessions with other Engineers, Analysts, Users, and Product Managers
Lead, motivate, and engage team members to cultivate a culture of excellence
Required Skills:
Current Versions of:
Working experience with technologies like Azure DevOps (Build Pipelines, Repos (Git), Package Management (NuGet)) and modern deployment solutions like Octopus
Commitment to Unit Testing and to a lesser extent Test-Driven Development
Bachelor’s Degree in CIS/CSE/MIS, or equivalent experience
5+ years of software development experience
Technical certifications are a plus (MCAD, MCSD, MCPD)
Desired Skills:
Strong understanding of Design Patterns, SOLID Design
A working understanding of Microservice and event-driven architectures
Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and other relevant frontend technologies
