Our client in Niles, MI has a contract need for a Workforce Management Coordinator who will be responsible for scheduling of pre-determined work activities of Transmission field personnel.
- M-Th (4) 10 hour days
- OT not expected
- Travel 10% to visit job sites
- Job designation is Field, however Mon and Thurs are required in office work days In Niles Service Center. The remaining two days are remote.

Job Duties:
- Perform collecting data, data entry, and maintaining front end loaded schedules as well as completed ready to execute resource loaded schedules that optimize the maintenance work plans, capital work plans and other TFS work activities.
- Complete and submit accurate TFS outage requests, including entering outages into the Outage Management System and verifying that all required outages have been entered.
- Possess an advanced knowledge of scheduling software and upgrades to the software.
- Must be a self-motivated and driven individual, and able to work under minimal supervision, be a good communicator and work well with others.
- The candidate must be able to interface with Transmission outage/project execution teams, all Departments in Transmission, Generation Schedulers, and senior management.
- Develop a thorough knowledge and ability to research electrical schematics and all client protection schemes and assets to identify inadequate relay protection schemes and submit necessary study request to EDOPs, and mentor younger employees on the correct processes.
- Develop fully integrated resource loaded and levelized TFS work schedules that optimize maintenance work plans, capital outage work, and other TFS work activities using Transmission approved scheduling software and tools for all TFS groups.
- Comply with the Outage Coordination Procedure and all RTO guidelines.
- Possess and demonstrate the process of researching electrical schematics to identify inadequate relay protection schemes and submit necessary study request to EDOPs.
- Participate and lead meetings with project, outage, construction, maintenance, operations, and commissioning groups.
- Submit TFS outage requests, including entering outages into TOA or its successor software.
- Assist higher level employees in coordinating changes to the work schedule when an outage needs to be canceled or rescheduled.
- Assist higher/ lower-level employees in the development, review, and presentation of statistical reports related to work scheduling and adherence, crew utilization, etc.
- Assist with the coordination and participate in meetings with other sections/departments covering scheduling, staffing and outages.
- Develop and promote a strong Safety, Culture, professionalism, good teamwork skills, effective communication skills, and become familiar with planning and scheduling techniques.
- Perform all duties and work with others in a safe manner in compliance with appropriate Company safety policies and rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, and 4 years’ electrical utility experience. Or, High school diploma/GED and 6 years direct electrical utility experience.
- Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a Business field, such as Accounting, Finance or Management will be accepted if they have at least 4 years of Electrical Utility maintenance work scheduling or construction project scheduling, or other relevant project controls experience.
- Electrical Utility field experience would include Transmission or Distribution Line, Station, P&C, Transmission engineering, Transmission or Distribution dispatch experience; or maintenance and/or construction work/project scheduling or project controls experience is strongly preferred.
- Advanced ability to read/ interpret electrical schematics.
- Clear knowledge and understanding of switching, tagging and clearance points
- Proficient knowledge and understanding of all MS Office applications, as well as SharePoint, Power B.I and ProjectWise, Outage Management System, and IPS.
- Talent for organizing and summarizing large volumes of data, and clearly communicate results.
- Skillful in developing and /or interpreting detailed KPI, metrics, and progress reports
- Ability to estimate resource requirements for typical TFS projects (construction and maintenance)
- Some travel required, must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Become proficient with all planning and scheduling techniques for all TFS groups supported.
