POSITION SUMMARY (Briefly describe the purpose of the position)

Responsible for partnering with leadership to support the culture, engagement, and growth needs of the organization while maintaining a balance between being a strategic business partner and champion for employees. Administration of processes, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals and initiatives of Envision.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE (List in order of importance)

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to Dallas business units to actively contribute to the business strategy while providing “best practice” Human Resources (HR) support.
  • Proactively assess and anticipate HR-related needs and seek to develop and/or recommend integrated solutions that are consistent with the mission, vision and core values of the organization.
  • Coach leadership on organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Support and provide guidance to leadership with the employee performance process; provide guidance through challenging performance management situations and assist in the development and communication of plans to address areas of improvement. Participate in coaching with employees when appropriate.
  • Coordinate and manage monthly Employee Advisory Group (EAG) committee meetings.
  • Identify, develop and implement training needs for business units and individual management. Coach and advise on potential solutions. Collaborate with centralized, Human Resources team members for guidance and execution, as needed.
  • Collaborate with management and Senior Human Resources Business Partner, to develop and maintain job descriptions for Dallas business units, ensuring current and accurate information. 
  • Coordinate and manage new employee orientation.
  • Manage the development and implementation of employee events and other morale building and employee engagement initiatives. 
  • Assist with various recruitment functions as directed by the Vice President, Human Resources while ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Partner with IT to support the onboarding and offboarding equipment process for employees.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends. Present reports to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Promote and foster a healthy work environment by raising awareness of available programs Employee Assistance Program (EAP), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and assist leaders with ensuring all employees comply.
  • Partner with leadership and Manager, Human Resources to ensure reasonable accommodations and assistive technology efforts meet the needs of employees and are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations governing HR policies and procedures, as well as Envision governing bodies (e.g., I-9s, licenses and certifications, ADA, National Industries for the Blind, etc.). Stay informed on current and pending legislation that may impact the organization.
  • Advise leaders on performance counseling and disciplinary procedures, consult on suspension or termination of employment actions; process and facilitate all unemployment claims.
  • Partners with the Vice President, Human Resources to manage employment related claims and lawsuits. Stays abreast of current local, state and federal legislative changes and changes in employment laws, so as to administer effectively.
  • At the discretion of the Vice President, Human Resources and/or Managing Director, Dallas, perform special projects by clarifying project objectives, setting timetables and schedules, conducting research, and developing and organizing information for review and/or presentation.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE (List as required or preferred)

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business related field required; not-for-profit experience preferred.

 

Experience: Minimum of 2 - 4 years prior experience in a Human Resources.

 

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Must demonstrate a commitment to service, organization core values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local employee and labor relations practices, laws and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels in order to develop and maintain strong relationships, with the ability to persuade, negotiate and communicate effectively.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as previous experience with HRIS/HRMS systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess the ability to:
    • work well under pressure with a sense of urgency, when warranted.
    • work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
    • manage multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines.
    • handle sensitive issues with diplomacy and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

 

Licenses/Certifications: PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
