BasX Solutions is an industry leader in the manufacturing of high efficiency data center cooling solutions, clean rooms, custom HVAC systems, and modular solutions. The Systems Applications Engineer, SAE, is responsible for formulating and producing sales quotations for custom equipment orders in compliance with the customers specifications; develop product designs, as well as process approved orders through the release into manufacturing. Coordinates work with customers, sales reps, the sales manager, and all applicable company departments to ensure the completion of the project.

General Responsibilities:

  • Assist outside salespersons in reviewing specifications and generation of concept design proposals.
  • Gather engineering data as it pertains to the specific project, review drawings, analyze data and retrieve information to complete system layouts and pricing.
  • Layout various environments (using AutoCAD, Inventor and/or Revit) to meet customer specifications and constraints with a particular attention on manufacturing efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and information to the company's reps and customers.
  • Generate proposal for customers by preparing accurate pricing for a project after gathering all necessary information.
  • Project Management Single source customer contact for all project issues/activities and internal project management of project progress and interdepartmental coordination.
  • Coordinate with third-party engineering consultants for contractual deliverables.
  • Create and ensure accuracy of the project buyout components lists.
  • Release projects for manufacturing and monitor equipment in production.
  • Manage contractual modifications during the project to ensure project profitability.
  • Process change order requests made without impacting production and scheduled ship dates.
  • Communication conduit with customers, engineers, Sales, Manufacturing, and schedule status.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Bachelors Degree in Structural/Arch Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture/Architectural Engineering, but not required.
  • Minimum 3 years work history in building systems industry (engineering, design, construction or manufacturing).
  • Preferred experience in Sales support – minimum 3 years.
  • Strong computer skills and expertise with MS Office.
  • Good Knowledge of computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit.
  • Good Knowledge and experience in blueprint and technical document review.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn specific inhouse and third-party engineering design and selection software programs.
