Position Overview
At Manatt Health, you will be inspired to transform the American health care system. You will work with a team of dedicated and driven professionals on the development of strategy and policy recommendations for our clients. In this role, you will work on a broad range of substantive issues related to whole-person care across state, provider, payer and private sector clients including: payment and delivery system transformation, effective ways of addressing medical and social needs, integration of Medicaid and other payers with other sectors such as education, justice-involved, and public health to coordinate efforts and improve outcomes, and Medicaid/Medicare/Marketplace policy and business strategy.
Responsibilities
Assist clients in constructing holistic, equitable approaches to population health management, including risk stratification and segmentation strategies, deployment of evidence-based interventions, and data-driven monitoring plans, to measurably improve outcomes and reduce health disparities.
Design care management programs for complex populations which may include integration of strategies to address the social determinants of health, integration with behavioral health, and managed long term services and supports and programs for those dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid.
Design payment reform initiatives for states, providers and payers to be implemented through Medicaid Managed Care, including but not limited to primary care payment models, bundled payments for maternity care, and/or ACOs.
Align payment reform efforts with Medicare and/or with Marketplace and commercial efforts within a state.
Support clients in determining key strategies to build and integrate a community-based workforce (such as community health workers or doulas).
Lead and manage complex client engagements from start through execution, including developing project work plans, anticipating and addressing client needs, managing major deliverables, effectively meeting project milestones and due dates, identifying and addressing project issues, supporting and managing project teams, and tracking and managing budgets.
Serve as a key point of contact for clients across multiple projects, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships based on trust and expertise.
Develop and deliver organized and compelling presentations, with the ability to synthesize complex information for a variety of settings and audiences, including at the executive level.
Participate in Manatt's health care practice strategy initiatives and take a leadership role in practice improvement and engagement, including helping to develop proposals and client pitches.
Oversee and mentor junior consultants, ensuring timely delivery of accurate results, providing constructive feedback, and proactively identifying opportunities for growth and development.
Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent experience in public health, business administration, public administration, public policy, health administration, health care management or a related field.
Minimum of seven years of substantive health care experience, with demonstrated subject matter expertise in various areas:
Expertise in Medicaid Managed Care, Medicare and/or state Marketplace payment models
Expertise in care management, behavioral health, managed long term services and supports, maternity care, primary care and programs for those dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid are highly desired.
Demonstrated client-facing project management, client relationship management and supervisory experience, with a track record of leading high-impact projects in a consulting or strategic planning environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored to a variety of audiences, as well as confidence in facilitating meetings and presenting to groups.
A self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple, diverse projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs.
Strong analytic and research skills with the ability to conduct complex analyses that address strategy and policy questions.
Comfort working with clinicians and clinical Subject Matter Experts, both internally and with clients.
Professional expertise with Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
