This position requires the Candidate to provide maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, and inspections for our clients Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and electrical systems (AC & DC) and equipment that support renewable energy resources for the ISO electrical grid in California. Candidate must have a strong electrical background with emphasis on DC battery systems. A Journeyman electrician is preferred, but recent Military electrical certifications are acceptable and will be strongly considered for the position. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidate will be required to operate a company truck and travel within the Southern California Region to customer sites to perform the required duties and a clean DMV record is essential for this position.
The Candidate will have experience on the following electrical systems:
· Operations and maintenance of BESS and Battery Management Systems (Samsung, LG- Chem, Tesla, CAT-L, BYD)
· Operations and maintenance of low voltage AC systems (dis-connects, ATS, fusing, cable termination-splicing-connection, switches, relays, transformers, UPS)
· AC/DC PCS Inverters (SMA, Power Electronics, Sungrow, Schneider, EPC)
· Knowledge of testing equipment (multi-meter, insulation resistance, power quality meter, IR scanner
· Knowledge of testing software applications
· Provide Vendor Management and LOTO for Subcontractors that perform maintenance and repair activities
· Strong writing skills required for creating progress reports, equipment inspection reports, site documentation reports, statements of work
· Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, Database applications, and Workflow and Tracking applications
Preferred experience:
o Utility Substation experience with SEL equipment and Utility Relays
o SCADA Control Systems, Distributed Control Systems and PLC, Software applications
o Networking: Routers, Switches, Wi-Fi, Fiber Optics, UPS, Servers
o Commercial Building infra-structure: HVAC, Fire Suppression, Lighting, Security, Plumbing, Mechanical systems
o Certifications: OSHA 10 Construction Safety, NFPA 70E Electrical Safety, HAZMAT
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be detail and safety oriented.
Must be a self-starter and able to work on a team or alone to complete assigned tasks.
