Responsible for the safe, efficient operation of assigned work cells and corresponding equipment. Assist production supervisor in ensuring that productivity and quality standards are met, and that employees in work cell are trained and effective in their positions.

• Perform set-up of machines at beginning of shift and throughout shifts as needed according to job specifications; monitor and make adjustments on machines to improve technical and/or production efficiencies.
• Responsible for operating multiple machines per Operations/Procedure Manuals.
• Ensure production orders are completed on schedule.
• Identify and solve complex technical machine problems; effectively involve work cell team members in problem solving basic technical machine problems.
• Effectively communicate with work cell team members; maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to share knowledge and teach/train team on operating equipment and production assembly functions.
• Monitor production of jobs with machine operators and pickers for quality; report any problems to supervisor and include maintenance tech or quality tech as appropriate.
• Work with supervisor to ensure that machine operators have necessary supplies and machines are properly safeguarded.
• Maintain high quality standards according to job specifications; ensure work cell team members perform quality checks as directed.
• Notify production supervisor on areas of concern regarding personnel issues.
• Maintain current and up-to-date on technical skills with respect to equipment /machinery by attending required training classes.

• Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Experience: 3 to 4 years experience working on multiple machines in a manufacturing production environment with proven attendance record.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Possess extensive knowledge of the technical principals and concepts of all machines.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to solve technical problems of a complex nature.
• Ability to multitask.
• Knowledge of operational processes, systems, tools, and workflow for assigned area.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals and skill levels.
• Math and computer skills necessary to create and/or update documents and spreadsheets.
• Working knowledge of company policies and procedures.
