TRISTAR is seeking a Program Manager (DoD Software & Cyber Engineering) for our upcoming government customer in Crane, IN - Relocation Assistance is Available & Sign On Bonus


Position Description:

The Program Manager will manage a multi-vendor team in support of a DoD Software & Cyber Engineering program. Manage cost, schedule, and technical performance to achieve performance metrics and customer requirements defined in the contract. Effective in communications with NSWC Crane management, and senior management or TRISTAR and subcontract partners. Knowledge of effective management strategies. Ability to interface with TRISTAR Project Control Analyst staff to provide the customer with accurate cost and schedule performance information


Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing DoD contract and personnel
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Government on all items relating to contract administration
  • Collaborate with the customer to build expert consensus regarding areas requiring process improvement and recommended solutions for identified areas requiring improvement.
  • Develop innovative approaches for managing continuous stream of work with the ability to handle changing priorities and implement innovative ideas to improve customer program operations in terms of cost, quality, efficiency and/or overall performance
  • Develop a performance measurements framework and facilitate a feedback system focused on customer service, communication, and technical skills
  • Develop information for decision briefs for senior leadership to use in making decisions on recommended solutions and areas requiring process improvement within the program, process, and execution
  • Accountable for effectual partnerships with: Peer engineering teams to guarantee design, implementation and orchestration of complex, multi-product solutions
  • Establish strong relationships with key government stakeholders and create convergence by demonstrating credibility, empathy and expertise on business and technical issues.
  • Develop workload schedules and projections to monitor status
  • Coordinates with all corporate departments for support as need to meet contract requirements
  • Interprets plans and specifications. Visits field installations to ascertain status of projects
  • Attends In-Progress Review meetings as required
  • Must work in coordination with Contracts department as it pertains to any issues on contract
  • Generates and Monitors workload schedules on projects
  • Reports periodically funding status, including projected expenditure rates

Position Requirements:

  • Experience as PM or Deputy PM with Navy Seaport Contracts
  • Experience performing supervisory functions such as time approvals for charging; expense reports, and travel plans; employee performance coaching and feedback; salary administration; and staffing functions
  • Ability to prepare and conduct presentations of a technical nature
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Must be able manage a diverse team of technical and development personnel, management, business customers, and vendors in a constructive and effective manner
  • Project and workflow management skills
  • MUST be a US Citizen
  • Must possess active DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's level degree in an Engineering, Business/IT Management, Cybersecurity, or similar discipline
  • Previous experience working as a DoD contractor
  • Previous experience and expertise managing Engineering and Logistics contracts highly desirable

Education and Certifications:

  • BA or BS degree
  • PMP Certification
